The celebration
After a boys Bar Mitzvah there is a wonderful celebration or party. The party is not held in the synagouge. It can be held anywhere from a hired event hall to amusment parks. The party is to celebrate the fact that the boy is no longer a child but is a man in the Jewsih faith. Official invatations are sent out to friends and family who are wanted at the party. The celebration has no strict conditions. It can be formal or informeal. Themed or unthemed. They often play party games, hire entertaainment and the boy who is now a man is carried around the room on a chair while the geusts clap (see above picture).
Each geust at the Bar Mitvah party is expected to bring a gift. This gift is anything you would give the boy for his birthday. it can be anything from books on Jewish history to electronics.
